Our Philosophy
We are a locally owned and family-run hospitality group. All of our travels stumbling upon spaces, places, and people who ultimately inspired and sharpened the pencil that created Salted Roots.
Salted Roots is a break in the rush – unique experiences in unexpected destinations. A place where a person can feel at home, many miles away from their comfortability. We’re really cynics I suppose… We’re not really fans of the ‘Top 10’ Travel lists, because we care more about the intimacy that comes with avoiding the trap. Travel is about finding your own path, against the grain, seeking the remote. That is what we have created here.
Salted Roots is providing a canvas. It is about driving the Alaska community, and sharing a way of living. The spaces we like most, the ones we identify with, are those that are personal, dynamic, and most importantly, flexible. You never get to choose how guests use your space, or what inspiration they may draw from it, so you might as well leave the possibilities as open as possible. We lead with intent, and allow our guests to determine the gaps.
